Panama Coffee

How Panama Highland Coffee Came to Fame

The high elevations of Boquete, Panama, are well known to have the perfect volcanic soil, cooler climate and the ideal ecosystem to produce a truly one of the kind coffee.

However, up to a couple of years ago, there had been little export of Boquete coffee because of the relatively low production quantity.  Then, the successive wins at International Cupping competitions, and in 2010, the Best of Panama auctions drew the world’s attention, when one of the Boquete specialty coffees sold for USD170.20 a lb.

Now Panama highland coffee is highly esteemed and recognised by its classic sweetness and proportion.  It is in as much demand as the Jamaican Blue Mountain and the Hawaiian Kona brands.
